Policies

  • Cancellations – We require 48 hours’ notice to cancel or refund a motel reservation (special rules apply to Hood-to Coast Race weekend in August. The cancellation deadline is August 1).
  • We are a Non-Smoking establishment. If it is discovered that smoking, burning of incense or candles has occurred in your room an automatic $250.00 fee will be billed to your credit card.
  • We do allow dogs (sorry, no cats or other animals) in designated rooms and charge an additional $18 per pet per night. If you are traveling with a dog please notify the front desk so we are sure to place you in a pet friendly room. If it is discovered that an unauthorized pet has been in your room a $250.00 fee will be billed to your credit card.
  • Check-in is after 3:00 pm. Check-out is by 11:00 am. If you plan to arrive after 10:00 pm please call ahead to make special arrangements.
  • We ask that all our guests respect their neighbors and refrain from excessive noise. If at any time management feels that you are causing too much of a disturbance, you will be evicted from the premises without a refund.
  • Maximum occupancy is two adults per bed.
  • Any repairs from damage or excessive cleaning to your room will be automatically billed to your credit card. This will be determined by management alone.
  • Unless requested, your room name/number listed is subject to change.
  • All guests must be over 18 or accompanied by their legal guardian.
  • A public, wireless internet signal is available free of charge to guests, use at your own discretion.  The Sandy Cove Inn / Red Door Properties does not condone the use of this internet connection for illegal actively.

Pet Policies

  • Unless crated, do not leave your dog unattended at any time. Locking your pet in the bathroom is not a substitute for crating. If it is discovered that your pet has been left unattended you will be asked to leave without refund.
  • Keep your pet on a leash at all times while on the property.
  • Do not let your pet in or on the beds. If you need a blanket for your pet to sleep on we will gladly provide one for you.
  • If your pet needs to go to the bathroom, use the lawn with the red fire hydrant (located in the back corner) or the beach — Do not use our neighbor’s yards. Please pick up after your pet. If you need additional doggy poop bags we will be happy to provide them.

Vacation Rental Policies

For the enjoyment of all our guests please remember: NO smoking, clam or crab cooking, or pets in homes (pets are welcome in the Downing House, dogs only – fees apply). You must be at least 21 years old to rent.

Cancellations, Billing Polices & Cleaning Fees

  • All cancellations and reservation changes are subject to a $55 processing fee.
  • Cancellations made 21 days before the check-in date will be refunded, minus the $55 processing fee.
  • The first night of the reservation (+ tax and cleaning fee) will be billed to the credit card on file upon reservation. The remaining balance will be billed to guest’s credit card on file, 21 days prior to the check-in date. Cancellations made after this date will not be refunded or credited.
  • Cleaning Fees: A one time, non-refundable cleaning fee of $125.00 will be charged to all vacation rental reservations after they have been accepted. 

Security Deposit

  • Upon check-in, a $500 hold will be placed on a credit card. Provided no additional cleaning fees or damage charges are incurred, the hold will automatically be released by your bank within 10 to 30 business days.
  • If the cleaning company detects evidence of smoking, pets, clam or crab cooking in the home you will be billed an additional $300 to decontaminate the home. These or any other damages will be deducted from your security deposit. If damages exceed the security deposit, the balance will be charged to the credit card(s) on file. Management will charge the guests credit card immediately and without notice.
  • Guests are also liable for additional nights that the house is not rentable due to damage caused by guests. The guest is also responsible for any fees and discounts credited to displaced renters.
  • Please wash sandy items outside. If an excess of sand is found in the drains or appliances you will be charged for repairs and cleanout.

Keys

  • Keys can be picked up at the Sandy Cove Inn – 241 Ave U, Seaside, OR 97138 – (503) 738-7473
  • $25 fee for missing keys

Check-In & Check-Out

  • Check-in is after 4:00 pm / Check-out is by 11:00 am. If you plan to arrive after 10:00 pm please call ahead to make special arrangements.
  • Unless previous arrangements have been made, the guest who placed the reservation must be present during check-in.
  • Please notify us immediately if there are any problems you find upon checking in. Staff will take inventory upon check-out / check-in and missing or damaged items will be charged to registered guest.
  • Late check-out will be charged as an additional day (and guests will still be expected to leave on scheduled departure date)

Departure Policies

  • Put all dishes in the dishwasher and start dishwasher
  • Lock all doors and windows
  • Turn off heater
  • Empty refrigerator
  • Take out the trash
  • Tidy up and leave the house in an acceptable manner

Evictions

Our on-site staff reserves the right to evict any guest, without refund, for any of the following reasons:

  • Excessive Partying – If at any time our staff has to ask a guest to be quiet, all guests may be asked to leave.
  • Neighbor Complaints – If at any time a neighbor complains about noise or being disturbed, all guests may be asked to leave.
  • Policy Violation – If our staff witnesses any of the rental policies being violated, or illegal activity, all guests will be asked to leave.
  • Exceeding Maximum Guests Allowed – Maximum occupancy is determined by the City of Seaside and must be enforced. If our staff witnesses more guests than allowed, all guests will be asked to leave.

Miscellaneous

  • If smoking outside, please clean up your cigarette butts.
  • Lost and found items will be held for 30 days, and will be returned to guests at owner’s request and expense
