Seaside Oregon Blog

Found in the Archives…

While cleaning up my electronic files this afternoon, I found this invitation created in 2007 when we first acquired the motel.  What a project that was.  We had so much help from our friends getting the motel just habitable (trust me, the place was in quite a state when we arrived).  Here is the letter … Continued

Lonely Planet Travel Book

Here is an email I received from Mike this week with some great news: We made it into the recent edition of Lonely Planet, which just came out.  They publish travel books for the globe, and apparently are a very big deal.  See page 24. Check out Lonely Planet here.

The Daffodils are Here!

The daffodils survived the surprise snowfall.  The snow is finally gone and every day we find more patches of daffodils opening up and inviting spring to hurry up and come.  Today on my way home from errands, I noticed that the roadside flower stands are filled with daffodils for sale.

The Sundial on the Prom

Waking up to snow

Here is the view from my window this morning. The snow looks lovely! Of course, the snow is nearly all gone now that it is the afternoon. But we had a blast while it lasted.

Perfect Rainy Day Distraction: The Seaside Public Library

Can you find me?

Seaside is full of fun, quirky finds.  This is one of my favorites – we drive by it regularly and my girls always point it out and yell, “STICKY POLE”!

Welcome back, Sun!

The sun has been showing itself much more often lately – thank goodness! I’ve just about had it with all the gray clouds. This morning I opened up my curtains and saw this lovely sunrise. Great way to start my day.
